1、 What is Multi-touch technology

Many touch screens only support single touch and can only recognize and support touch and click with one finger at a time. If two or more points are touched at the same time, they cannot react correctly. The Multi-touch monitors can decompose the task into two aspects: one is to collect multi point signals at the same time, and the other is to judge the meaning of each signal, which is called Gesture recognition, so as to realize the screen recognition of the simultaneous click and touch actions of five fingers.

2、 Principle of Multi-touch technology

The core of multi-touch technology is the suppressed internal total reflection technology. After the beam of light emitted by the LED illuminates the surface of the screen from the touch screen cross-section, it will generate reflection. If the surface of the screen is air, when the angle of incident light meets certain conditions, the light will be completely reflected on the screen surface. But if a substance with a high refractive index presses against the acrylic material panel, the condition for total reflection on the screen surface will be broken, and some of the light beams will pass through the surface and project onto the surface of the fingers. The uneven surface of the fingers causes scattering of the light beam, which passes through the touch screen and reaches the photoelectric sensor. The photoelectric sensor converts the light signal into an electrical signal, and the system obtains the corresponding touch information.
