We are exposed to more and more electronic products. Everyone has heard of LCD and LED, but do you know the difference between the two? Follow Axnew to find out the difference between the two.
The concept of LCD display and LED display
LCD is the English abbreviation of Liquid Crystal Display. The LCD display is actually a liquid crystal display. Its main working principle is to stimulate the liquid crystal molecules to generate points, lines, and surfaces with the back light tube to form a picture.
And LED is the English abbreviation of Light Emitting Diode. Translated into Chinese, it means semiconductor light-emitting diode. LED lamp beads are reduced to the micron level. The beads make up the screen panel.
Generally speaking, LCD is a display screen composed of liquid crystals, while LED is a display screen composed of light-emitting diodes.
The difference between LCD display and LED display
- In terms of brightness, the reaction speed of a single element of the LED display is 1000 times that of the LCD liquid crystal screen, so the LED display has more advantages in terms of brightness, even if the screen is viewed under strong light, there is no problem at all.
- In terms of color display effect, because LCD has a backlight layer, it emits light by refracting light, which of course will make the color saturation of the screen somewhat discounted, but each pixel of LED can project red, green and blue primary colors of light, so It has more advantages in color contrast, and it can be clearly seen that the LED display is also more powerful in terms of color authenticity.
- In terms of power consumption, the difference between the two is also obvious. The power consumption ratio of LED and LCD is about 1:10. Because the LCD switch means that the entire backlight layer is fully on or off; in contrast, LEDs can only light up some pixels in the display.
